Tellurium-based technology designed to generate additional electricity from temperature differentials during periods of low or no sunlight.
Vancouver, BC, Canada, September 14, 2026 – Vancouver, BC – First Tellurium Corp. (CSE: FTEL, OTC: FSTTF) (“First Tellurium” or the “Company”) reports that that its subsidiary PyroDelta Energy is developing a tellurium-based thermoelectric film designed to extend electricity generation from solar panel installations beyond daylight hours and during periods of reduced sunlight.
The film would be applied to the back of conventional photovoltaic (PV) panels without requiring alterations to the panel’s basic design or supporting infrastructure. PyroDelta is developing the technology to generate electricity from temperature differentials between the panel surface and its surrounding thermal environment, including heat retained and radiated from the ground.
PyroDelta Head Engineer Michael Abdelmaseh discussed the technology in a recent interview.
“We estimate our thermoelectric film is about 11% to 12% efficient,” said Abdelmaseh. “Conventional solar panels today typically operate at efficiencies of about 20% to 22%. Our objective is not to replace photovoltaic generation, but to complement it by capturing energy from temperature differentials when solar irradiance is low or unavailable.”
First Tellurium President and CEO Tyrone Docherty noted that development of the solar technology has not detracted from PyroDelta’s current priority of bringing its heavy-lift drone technology to market.
“Michael has been developing the solar concept for some time,” said Docherty. “Our immediate focus remains the drone technology, which we believe represents the most direct path to commercialization and an important opportunity to demonstrate the broader potential of our thermoelectric technology. As we establish markets for the drones, we intend to advance other applications, including solar.”
The potential market for technologies capable of increasing the productivity of solar installations is substantial. According to the International Energy Agency Photovoltaic Power Systems Programme (IEA PVPS), global installed photovoltaic capacity of all types, including cadmium-telluride, approached three terawatts (TW) at the end of 2025, with approximately 698 gigawatts (GW) of new capacity installed during the year. Solar PV now supplies more than 10% of global electricity demand.
While PyroDelta’s thermoelectric solar film remains at an early stage of development, the Company believes the technology could complement conventional photovoltaic generation by producing additional electricity when solar irradiance is reduced or unavailable, provided a sufficient temperature differential exists. Because the film is being designed for application to the back of conventional solar panels without changing their basic design, PyroDelta sees potential applications in both new solar installations and, subject to further development and testing, the existing global installed base.
